Hello,
Today I decided to go to the beach for a walk and to see what the beach is like in Seattle. With so much water around the city, there are several parks with beaches right along the water. I went to a park called Golden Gardens which is on the shores of Puget Sound.
It is more Gray than Golden
It is getting late in the year and there were not many other people around because it is getting colder. Today it was very windy so it was especially chilly (glad I brought my coat with me).
Holding on to this rock kept me from blowing away.
There are lots of sailboats in Seattle and I saw lots of them out on the water. With so much wind they were all moving very quickly.
The people on those sailboats must dress very warmly.
There are lots of different animals that live in the water here. There are seals, sea lions, porpoises, whales and lots of birds. Sometimes people come to this park and see them in the water or on the beach (the whales don't come onto the beach). When the animals are on the beach, it is fun to see them but it is important to stay away from them so that they don't get scared or hurt. There are signs on the beach to help people remember this.
Look but don't touch
I didn't see any seals today, I only saw sea gulls.
It is going to be getting even colder here in the next few days and there may even be some snow. The mountains around Seattle have already gotten several feet of snowfall. I'm looking forward to getting to see the snow. I don't get to see snow very often back in Texas so I am looking forward to it.
Don't blow away friends.
-Stanley
